# Selling on Wallapop with RUIT: full guide

How to connect your Wallapop account, which operations RUIT supports on this platform, and the limits that make it different from other marketplaces.

Wallapop connects **through the Chrome extension**, because it has no public API. RUIT uses the
session you already have open in your browser, so it never asks you for your Wallapop username or
password.

## What can RUIT do on Wallapop?

The whole cycle: **import** your existing ads, **publish** new items, **edit** price and description,
**receive and answer messages**, handle offers and **take the ad down when the item sells**
somewhere else.

Stock syncing works in both directions: if you sell on Wallapop, RUIT detects it and takes the unit
off your inventory.

## What do I need before publishing?

A location. Normally you already have one on your Wallapop profile, and then RUIT reuses it without
asking you anything. If your profile has none, RUIT asks you for it as a **required field** on the
publishing form and saves it to your profile when it publishes. Only if there is neither does RUIT
stop the listing **before sending it** and tell you why.

With one important caveat: in **bulk publishing** there is no form to fill in, so if your profile has
no location the item fails on required fields. Set it on Wallapop before launching a large batch.

It also helps to keep the extension pinned to the toolbar: the connection to Wallapop depends on the
browser session still being alive, and seeing that at a glance saves you finding out too late.

## What changes if I have a PRO account?

Quite a lot, and it is RUIT's only difference that **depends on the account rather than on the
platform**. With Wallapop PRO you can sell **several units of the same item**: RUIT sends the real
stock figure, up to a maximum of **200 units** per ad, which is Wallapop's own cap. For it to send
the real figure the item has to have **managed stock** in RUIT; without that, the ad goes out with a
single unit.

A regular account has no such field, so each ad is a single unit and auto-delist becomes the
important tool: the moment it sells, the ad disappears from the other marketplaces.

## What happens when the stock runs out?

Each marketplace does something different, and it is worth knowing because it changes what you see
afterwards. **Wallapop deletes the ad**, and **so does Vinted**; eBay ends it; Shopify archives it;
WooCommerce, PrestaShop and Todocolección simply drop the quantity to zero.

Wallapop deleting rather than archiving has one practical consequence: **the ad cannot be recovered**.
There is no way to bring it back, neither from RUIT nor from Wallapop, and its saved-item and view
counts go with it. That is not a RUIT bug or something that can be avoided: it is how Wallapop works.

And there is a detail that catches people out: **restocking does not republish it on its own**. A
deleted ad only comes back if you publish it again, by hand or in a bulk batch, and it comes back
with a new link. There is a separate option, *republish after sale*, which does republish on its own
when you sell and still have stock, but it **comes switched off** and is turned on account by
account.
