# Selling on Wallapop with RUIT: full guide

How to connect your Wallapop account, which operations RUIT supports on this platform, and the limits that make it different from other marketplaces.

Wallapop connects **through the Chrome extension**, because it has no public API. RUIT uses the
session you already have open in your browser, so it never asks you for your Wallapop username or
password.

## What can RUIT do on Wallapop?

The whole cycle: **import** your existing ads, **publish** new items, **edit** price and description,
**receive and answer messages**, handle offers and **take the ad down when the item sells**
somewhere else.

Stock syncing works in both directions: if you sell on Wallapop, RUIT detects it and takes the unit
off your inventory.

## What do I need before publishing?

One single thing, and it is set up outside RUIT: **your Wallapop profile must have a location**.
Without it, Wallapop rejects the listing and the ad ends up in an error state.

It also helps to keep the extension pinned to the toolbar: the connection to Wallapop depends on the
browser session still being alive, and seeing that at a glance saves you finding out too late.

## What changes if I have a PRO account?

Quite a lot, and it is RUIT's only difference that **depends on the account rather than on the
platform**. With Wallapop PRO you can sell **several units of the same item**: RUIT sends the real
stock figure, up to a maximum of **200 units** per ad, which is Wallapop's own cap.

A regular account has no such field, so each ad is a single unit and auto-delist becomes the
important tool: the moment it sells, the ad disappears from the other marketplaces.

## What happens when the stock runs out?

Each marketplace does something different, and it is worth knowing because it changes what you see
afterwards. **Wallapop deletes the ad**; eBay ends it; Shopify archives it; the rest simply drop the
quantity to zero.

Wallapop deleting rather than archiving has one practical consequence: **the ad cannot be recovered**.
If you restock, RUIT publishes a new one, with a new link, and the saved-item and view counts of the
old ad are gone. That is not a RUIT bug or something that can be avoided: it is how Wallapop works.
