Bundle Discounts on Vinted: How to Set Them Up in 2026

Bundle discounts on Vinted are a setting that gives buyers an automatic percentage off when they buy several of your items together, and you turn them on under Settings in your profile. Set them sensibly, for example 10% for two items and 15 to 20% for three or more, and they raise your average order value without you haggling over every parcel.

This guide covers how the feature works, where to find it, what percentages make sense, what to do on eBay (where bundles work very differently), and the tax and stock-control points that catch UK resellers out.

TL;DR

  • Standard Vinted sellers switch on bundle discounts in Settings, then choose a percentage for each number of items. Buyers see the discount automatically when they bundle.
  • Check your settings today: forum users report that a high default can apply to new accounts without the seller realising.
  • A discount that is too deep can make a bundle cheaper than one item in it, so work out your margin per item first.
  • eBay has no equivalent automatic system: you set up combined postage rules yourself.
  • If you sell on both platforms, sold items must come off the other one at once, or a bundle sale can turn into a double sale.

How bundle discounts work on Vinted

A bundle is several listings bought together from the same seller. Vinted says that bundling can save buyers on shipping, and that standard sellers may offer a discount based on how many items are bought. Buyers can create bundles from your listings, up to a maximum of 100 items per order.

The discount is applied automatically once the buyer builds the bundle. You do not have to message anyone or edit prices. That is the main difference from a one-off offer: a bundle discount is a standing rule for your whole closet.

Two details are worth knowing:

  • It is optional. According to Vinted’s help page on discounts, you can turn bundle discounts off, or skip a particular item count by choosing the ”-” option in your settings.
  • Vinted Pro is different. Vinted’s help documentation indicates that the discount feature is aimed at standard sellers and that Pro accounts may have different eligibility. If you run a Pro account, check the current help page before planning around it.

Bundle discounts on Vinted: setting them up step by step

The route is short. Vinted’s help centre lists it as profile icon, Settings, Bundle discounts, enabling the feature if it is not already on.

  1. Tap your profile icon.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Choose Bundle discounts from the list and switch it on if needed.
  4. Pick the percentage you want to offer for each number of items.
  5. Save, then open one of your own listings in a logged-out view or ask a friend to add two items to a bundle, so you can see exactly what a buyer sees.

Step five matters. Many sellers set a discount once and never test it. Because the exact labels can shift between app versions, a quick test is the only way to be sure the rule does what you meant.

Check the default before you list anything

On a Mumsnet thread about bundle etiquette, users describe a 50% discount for five-item bundles appearing on new accounts until the seller changes it. We cannot confirm from Vinted’s own pages that this is the current default, so treat it as a prompt rather than a fact: open your settings and look at what is actually set. If you find a high figure you did not choose, change it before your first bundle request arrives.

What percentage should you offer?

There is no correct number, only a number that fits your stock. One Vinted seller guide published in May 2026 suggests starting at 10% for two items and 15 to 20% for three or more, and adjusting as you learn. Treat that as a starting point, not a rule.

What decides the right figure is your cost and your price per item. Here is an illustrative example with made-up numbers, to show the arithmetic.

ScenarioItemsListed totalDiscountBuyer pays (items)Your cost per itemYour item profit
Single item1£12.00None£12.00£3.00£9.00
Small bundle2£24.0010%£21.60£3.00£15.60
Medium bundle3£36.0015%£30.60£3.00£21.60
Large bundle5£60.0020%£48.00£3.00£33.00

Even at 20% off, the five-item bundle earns far more than a single sale, and you pack one parcel instead of five. That is the logic behind bundles: you give up a little margin per item to win several sales at once.

The maths turns against you when your items are cheap or your sourcing cost is high. If you bought a job lot of tops at £4 each and list them at £6, a 20% discount leaves you £4.80 per item, barely above cost. In that case offer a smaller discount, or price the item range up slightly.

Watch the very cheap listings

A Reddit discussion points out that a deep discount can bring a bundle’s price below the price of a single item in it. This is easy to trigger with a mix of £1 items and one £15 item. Before you set a high percentage for four or more items, imagine the buyer picking your most expensive piece plus several pennies-worth items, and check the total still makes sense.

Bundle discount or a bundle offer: which to use

Sellers often mix up the standing discount and the individual offer. They do different jobs.

Most sellers do best with a modest standing discount and then make a bigger offer only to buyers who ask. Our guide to Vinted offers and pricing rules for sellers explains how those price tools fit around the discount, and if you need to lower many prices at once, there is a page on reducing prices on Vinted in bulk.

Postage: why bundles help the buyer

Shipping is the buyer’s main objection on a low-priced item. A £5 top with a postage charge on top feels poor value, while three tops in one parcel feels like a sensible order. Bundling spreads the postage across several items, and the discount sweetens it further.

One practical point for you as the seller: the system chooses the parcel size based on the items in the bundle, and that choice can be wrong. Vinted says you can change the parcel size at the drop-off point at no extra cost if the auto-selected size is incorrect. Check the size when you generate the label rather than waiting until you are at the counter. If a carrier you want is missing from your options, our article on Vinted postage options and why carriers go missing goes through the causes.

Bundles on eBay UK work differently

Vinted bundles are buyer-driven and automatic. eBay’s version is not. Combined postage needs setting up by you, and eBay’s help page says you must update your Postage Preferences before you can offer it. The postage discounts page adds that you create combined postage rules and then apply them to your listings. Without those rules, a buyer has to ask you for a combined invoice.

So if you run the same stock on both platforms, you need two separate approaches:

Fees change what a discount is worth

The fee side matters too, because a discount comes straight off a price that fees are then charged on. As of September 2026, eBay says private UK sellers get 300 free listings a month with no final value fees, while business sellers pay category fees, typically around 11.9% on clothes, shoes and accessories, plus a per-order fee and a 0.35% regulatory operating fee. The same page notes that UK-registered sellers pay an international fee of 1.05% to 2% when the item is delivered outside the UK, and that the seller currency conversion charge rises from 2.5% to 2.75% from 1 December 2026. If you are a business seller, build those percentages into your margin before you decide how far to discount. We cover this in more depth in our guide to eBay fees in the UK and the £1,000 HMRC threshold.

The double-sale risk when you sell on both

Bundle discounts are at their most effective when you have lots of stock listed, and that is exactly when selling on two platforms gets risky. A buyer on Vinted builds a five-item bundle, and one of those items is also live on eBay. If you do not pull the eBay listing in time, a second buyer can buy the same piece, and you are cancelling an order and risking a poor rating.

One sold item still listed on another marketplace

There are two ways to manage it. The manual way is to open the other platform every time something sells. That works at 20 items and falls apart at 200. The other way is to use a tool that does this for you: our page on syncing stock across marketplaces explains the approach, and the article on cross listing on eBay without double sales covers the eBay side from a UK reseller’s angle.

Do bundle discounts affect tax?

A discount lowers your income, but it does not change whether that income is taxable. Two numbers get confused constantly.

  • The £1,000 trading allowance. HMRC’s guidance for people who buy or make things to sell (updated 18 August 2025) treats £1,000 of trading income in a tax year as the key threshold for side income, before expenses.
  • The 30 items or about £1,700 reporting threshold. This is a data-sharing trigger for platforms, not a tax-free limit. GOV.UK explains (4 December 2024) that digital platforms must share sales data with HMRC, and a separate GOV.UK announcement from the same date stresses there are no new tax obligations. Selling unwanted belongings is different from trading, and buying items specifically to resell is the situation to look at carefully.

If you buy stock to resell, you are likely in trading territory and should check your position. Speak to an accountant or HMRC directly if you are unsure, especially before you pass £1,000 of income from reselling in a tax year. VAT is a separate matter that applies once taxable turnover goes beyond £90,000 a year in the UK.

If you are thinking beyond Vinted and eBay

Some resellers of trend clothing start looking at newer channels once their closet is running well. If you are weighing up a brand-led route, this Spanish-language guide to selling trend clothing on TikTok Shop in Europe covers what that involves. It is written for brands with physical products, so it will suit established sellers more than casual ones.

Our view on bundle discounts

We talk to a lot of sellers who run Vinted and eBay side by side, and the pattern is consistent. The sellers who get the most from bundles are not the ones with the deepest discount. They are the ones who know their cost per item, keep a steady closet of similar pieces, and never have a sold item still listed elsewhere.

Our advice is simple. Pick a modest discount, test it as a buyer, and revisit it every month or so against your actual sales. Keep the discount for the items where multi-buying makes sense, such as kids’ clothes, accessories and basics, and price your single standout pieces so that even a bundle leaves you comfortable.

The other half of the job is admin. More bundles mean more messages, more relisting and more risk of overlap between channels. That is the part we built Ruit to take off your plate: you list once, stock syncs, and sold items are removed from the other channels.

Keeping a bundle-friendly closet running with Ruit

If your closet is growing, the repetitive work is what slows you down. With Ruit you list an item once and publish it on Vinted and eBay, plus Wallapop, todocoleccion, Shopify, WooCommerce and PrestaShop. When something sells on one channel, stock is updated and the listing is removed from the others, so a bundle sale on Vinted does not become a double sale elsewhere. Ruit also auto-relists on Vinted and Wallapop, brings Vinted and Wallapop buyer messages into one inbox, and drafts titles and descriptions with AI, which helps when you are adding many similar items that bundle well. You can see how it works on the Ruit home page.

A quick routine for the first month

A discount only pays if you review it. This is a routine we would follow.

  1. Week one: open Settings and confirm your percentages are the ones you chose. Test a bundle as a buyer.
  2. Week two: list a batch of similar items (for example five tops in one size range) so bundles are natural for buyers.
  3. Week three: look at which bundles sold. If most were two-item orders, consider a slightly better two-item discount.
  4. Week four: check your margin on the lowest-priced items. If the discount is eating the profit, adjust it, or raise the price of those items.
  5. Ongoing: if you also sell on eBay, check that combined postage rules are set and that sold stock is removed promptly elsewhere.

If you are adding stock in volume, our guide to bulk uploading to Vinted safely walks through how to do it without triggering problems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Should I do bundle discounts on Vinted?

For most sellers, yes, at a modest level. A bundle discount encourages buyers to take several items in one parcel, which raises your order value and saves you repeated trips to drop-off points. Work out your cost per item first, so the discount never pushes your profit too low.

Can I offer a bundle discount to a single buyer on Vinted?

Yes. Alongside the standing discount in Settings, you can talk to a buyer who has asked about several items and agree a custom price with them. Keep your standing discount sensible so that you are not tempted to undercut it for every request.

Can you do bulk discounts on Vinted?

The built-in feature is the bundle discount, which rewards buyers for buying several of your items at once. Vinted’s help page says buyers can include up to 100 items in one bundled order. If you want to cut prices across many listings, that is a separate job from the bundle setting.

How does a bundle discount work on Vinted?

You set a percentage in Settings for different numbers of items. When a buyer adds your items to a bundle, the discount is applied automatically at checkout. You can switch it off or skip an item count by choosing the ”-” option.

Do bundle discounts work on eBay too?

Not in the same way. On eBay UK you set up combined postage rules in your Postage Preferences and apply them to your listings, otherwise buyers must ask you for a combined invoice. It is a manual setup, so do it before you start listing in volume.
