Decide when to reduce the price on Vinted and Wallapop, and how far

With a pricing rule you decide how much the price drops, how often and how far. Ruit applies it for you and you see every change.

The price nobody touches

Reviewing prices always gets pushed to tomorrow, so the markdown arrives late and all at once. A rule does it on its own, at a steady pace and never past a limit.

  • How the price drops

It drops by a percentage at your pace, down to a floor it never crosses.

    More detail

"Lower every" is the number of days between one drop and the next, and "Reduce by" is the percentage it drops each time, on the price at that moment. "Max. discount" is how far it can drop in total from the starting price: that is the floor. Nor does it ever go below a minimum price Ruit always applies, and you can add rounding so the price looks clean.

  • Which listings it follows

Ruit periodically picks up the listings for sale that match each active rule.

    More detail

You can limit a rule to one marketplace and to listings that have been up for a minimum number of days. The first drop comes once the "Lower every" days have passed. Each listing drops from its own price, the one it had when it joined the rule, even if the product is on several marketplaces.

  • If you change the price yourself

The rule takes your new price as its starting point, without fighting you.

    More detail

The same happens if the marketplace changes it, and either way the rule works out the floor again and keeps its pace: touching the price does not bring the next drop forward.

  • What you see in Ruit

Every listing a rule follows carries the "Auto-price" tag, with its floor.

    More detail

The floor shows when you hover over the tag. If anything drops or fails in a round, you get a notification with "View details": the old and the new price, and each failure with its reason. Everything is also kept in the Activity Log.

  • Wallapop, Vinted and the extension

On Wallapop and Vinted the price changes through the extension, with your browser session.

    More detail

If it is not connected, the listing waits for the next check without counting as a failure. PrestaShop and IberLibro do not need it, and on IberLibro the rule only changes what you listed from Ruit. If Vinted restricts selling on your account, the rule skips its listings while that lasts, and Ruit tells you so.

How to use it, step by step

  1. 1

    Open Pricing rules

In settings, go to Automations & AI and, under Pricing & offers, choose Pricing rules. Click "Create rule".

  2. 2

Decide how much and how often

Name it and fill in "Lower every", "Reduce by" and "Max. discount". Below, a sentence sums up what it will do.

  3. 3

    Fine-tune and save

Choose the rounding and, if you want, one marketplace or a minimum number of days listed. Save it active and it starts at the next check.

Good to know

A rule only lowers prices, always by a percentage, and the minimum days listed count from when the listing was created in Ruit. Each listing follows a single rule, and if its price change fails several times in a row, the rule stops trying.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have a question? Contact us

How do you lower prices on Vinted?
With a pricing rule, Ruit lowers them for you through the extension, using your Vinted session, and never raises them. To raise prices, or change several at once, use bulk price editing from the inventory.
When should you reduce the price on Vinted?
You decide it in the rule: it picks up a listing once it reaches the minimum days listed, if you set one, and the first drop comes when the "Lower every" days have passed. Ruit checks rules periodically, so a drop can land at any time of day.
Who creates rules in a team?
In an organization, owners and admins. The rest of the team cannot create, edit or delete them.
What happens if I delete a rule?
Its listings keep the price they had, unless another active rule picks them up at the next check. If you only want to stop it for a while, use its switch.
Can I have several rules at once?
Yes, for example one for Wallapop and another for Vinted. If two match the same listing, the first one to pick it up keeps it, so the marketplace filter is how you split them.
