When Vinted restricts an account, Ruit steps back

If Vinted restricts an account, Ruit pauses its automatic work there and tells you. When it ends, everything resumes.

  • How Ruit detects it

From Vinted's refusals and from a periodic look at the public profile.

    More detail

Vinted refuses selling actions, such as publishing or editing, and the look at the account's public profile is anonymous. If Vinted gives an end date, Ruit uses it; if not, it checks again later.

  • What pauses and what keeps going

Ruit's automatic work on that account stops, except the session upkeep.

    More detail

On that Vinted account this covers, for example, publication and order sync, bulk publishing or pricing rules, and Ruit does not let you renew its listings. The session upkeep keeps going, so it does not expire while you wait.

  • Notified at the start, resumed automatically

Ruit tells you when it starts, and the pause lifts once Vinted accepts the account again.

    More detail

You do not get a notification for every attempt Vinted refuses, and the account card carries a notice with a date. Once that date passes, Ruit checks again.

How to use it, step by step

  1. 1

    Look out for the notice

In Settings, Accounts, the account shows Selling restricted.

  2. 2

    Look at the date

It is the end date Vinted gives or Ruit's next check.

  3. 3

Let it resume on its own

You do not need to do anything.

Good to know

Only Vinted lifts the restriction, and with no end date the badge can come and go. If the suspension is permanent, Ruit stops working with that account and tells you.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Have a question? Contact us

How long does a Vinted restriction last?
That is up to Vinted. If it gives an end date, Ruit shows it on the account notice and tries again once it passes; if not, Ruit checks again later.
Do I lose my Vinted listings during the restriction?
No: Ruit deletes nothing because of the restriction. And if Vinted hides your wardrobe and almost all your listings vanish, Ruit removes nothing on your other marketplaces until it can read your inventory again.
Why is renewing blocked on that Vinted account?
Because renewing deletes the current listing and creates a new one, and with selling restricted the creation would fail: you would be left with neither.
Does it affect my other accounts?
Your other marketplaces, no. The pause is recorded on that Vinted account, but while it lasts, the extension also holds back the changes Ruit sends to Vinted from your other accounts.
What happens to a bulk publishing job that includes that account?
When you publish, that Vinted account shows as unavailable, and a bulk publishing job leaves it out: the confirmation screen tells you so. Whatever goes to your other marketplaces goes ahead.
